About Mr Chow Miami
Mr Chow Miami opened inside the W South Beach on Collins Avenue in 2009 as the fourth location of Michael Chow's Beverly Hills-London-New York institution — the original London room opened in 1968 and has been a celebrity dining room for decades. The Miami dining room runs approximately 170 seats across two interconnected rooms.
The menu is deliberately unchanged from the founding template: Beijing duck carved tableside (48-hour advance order required), satay chicken, green prawns, the Ma mignon beef, and the signature hand-pulled noodles prepared by a dedicated noodle chef in full view of the dining room. Dinner lands $110-180 per person before wine.
The service uniform is Michael Chow's signature white dinner jacket, the dining room is decorated with 20th-century artworks from the founder's personal collection, and the pacing is deliberately unhurried — a two-and-a-half-hour dinner is standard. The experience is theatrical in a way that separates Mr Chow from every other Chinese restaurant in Miami.
Best Occasion Fit
Mr Chow impresses clients by virtue of having impressed their parents. The tableside noodle-pulling, the 48-hour duck preorder, and the white-jacket service combine into a dinner that signals a familiarity with the tradition of Mr Chow across its five decades and four cities.
