About Amal Miami
Amal Miami opened at CocoWalk in Coconut Grove in 2021 as the U.S. flagship of the ICONINK group's Toronto Lebanese concept. The dining room occupies two levels of the courtyard redevelopment and centres on a Jerusalem-limestone-and-brass open kitchen with a wood-fired taboun oven and a charcoal mangal.
The menu is modern Lebanese — hummus whipped to order, fattoush with sumac, charcoal-grilled lamb chops, whole branzino in a salt crust, slow-braised tagines, and a reputation-making muhammara. The mezze format encourages 8-to-12-plate orders at four-top tables. Entrées run $35-90.
The outdoor terrace is the room's signal feature — 80 seats under mature banyan trees with slow-moving ceiling fans and a soundtrack that leans Fairuz-adjacent rather than Top 40. The dining experience pairs particularly well with birthdays and group dinners where the mezze-to-main arc naturally paces a three-hour evening.
Best Occasion Fit
Amal anchors a Coconut Grove birthday the way the Grove wants to be anchored — courtyard trees, long shared tables, lamb chops delivered family-style. The mezze format rewards groups of six to twelve, and the kitchen handles allergy and preference substitutions more fluently than most.
