Arabesque is the principal restaurant at Sofitel Shahd Al Madinah, the French hospitality group's flagship property in the city. Signature dishes include the mixed seafood grill platter for two; lamb rack with a date and pomegranate reduction; the Arabesque mezze selection that serves as a shared opener for a table of four or more; and a saffron-scented crème brûlée with Arabic coffee.
Service at Sofitel is consistent with the brand's French hospitality training — more reserved than the Arabian norm, with extended intervals between courses that feel appropriate to the pace of the city. The mocktail programme is among the more creative in central Medina, with a particular focus on Arabic coffee-based non-alcoholic cocktails.
