About Blue Ginger

Blue Ginger Cafe has long been a Lanai local favourite — opened in the central Lanai City village, a five-minute drive from the Sensei Lanai resort — with cozy, homey kind of cooking with an island flair. The restaurant is the canonical Lanai-resident casual dining institution.

The cuisine is local Hawaiian. Signatures include a Hawaiian-style breakfast plate; a Hawaiian poke bowl; a slow-cooked Lanai-pork loco moco (the canonical Hawaiian rice-and-egg-and-meat plate); a Hawaiian-island fish sandwich; the famous 'haupia pie' (a Hawaiian coconut-cream pie) for the dessert course.

The drinks programme runs to local Hawaiian beer and a tightly chosen American-Pacific wine list. Glass pours start at US$8.

The dining room holds forty-eight covers.

Why It's Perfect for Solo Dining

Blue Ginger Cafe is the solo-dining destination on Lanai — the local-village setting is the conversation, the homey island-flair cooking is the canonical Lanai-resident experience, and the casual format makes it walk-in friendly. The most reasonable mid-day or evening meal on Lanai.
