About Çok Çok Pera

Istanbul has long been a city of culinary crossroads, but Çok Çok Pera takes the concept to its logical extreme: a restaurant that is authentically, unapologetically Thai in a city where Bosphorus views compete with everything. Named with a Turkish-Thai pun — çok çok means 'very very' in Turkish — the room bristles with silk lanterns, teak screens, and an atmosphere that somehow manages to feel exotic and intimate simultaneously.

Selected for the Michelin Guide Turkey in 2025, Çok Çok Pera earns its place through rigorous sourcing. Thai basil, kaffir lime leaves, galangal, and bird's eye chillies arrive weekly from specialist importers; the pad thai paste is made from scratch each morning. The result is a green curry that hits with genuine heat before giving way to coconut silk — the kind of curry that ruins all other curries forever.

The crispy duck salad with toasted rice, pomelo, and chilli dressing is a signature that has appeared on essentially every table since opening. Follow it with the massaman lamb — slow-braised shoulder in a sauce of cardamom, cinnamon, and palm sugar, served with jasmine rice pressed into perfect rounds. The cocktail list leans Thai-inspired: lemongrass martinis, yuzu sake highballs, tamarind old fashioneds.

First dates work well here because the food gives you something to talk about, the space is intimate without being claustrophobic, and the energy is lively enough to carry any awkward silences. The prix-fixe option at lunch is one of the best value meals in Beyoğlu.
