About Zigolini's Italian
Zigolini's Italian is the flagship Italian restaurant of the Islamabad Marriott Hotel — the five-star Marriott property in F-5/1 that has been the diplomatic-corps standby since the 1980s. The restaurant occupies a Tuscan-villa-styled dining room inside the hotel, with terracotta-tile floors, exposed-wood beams, hand-painted Tuscan-landscape murals, and a glass-fronted display kitchen with the wood-fired pizza oven as the centrepiece.
The kitchen captures the essence of authentic Italian cuisine: hand-tossed Neapolitan-style pizzas, fresh pastas (the lobster ravioli, the tagliatelle al ragù bianco, the squid-ink linguine), Italian-imported antipasti (Parma ham, buffalo mozzarella, marinated artichokes), and Italian-style desserts (tiramisu, panna cotta, affogato). The kitchen team is led by an Italian executive chef rotated through the Marriott Italian-restaurant training programme. A multi-course dinner for two with antipasti, primi, secondi, and dessert runs PKR 14,000-18,000 ($50-65).
The room is engineered for the Marriott's diplomatic-corps clientele. The Tuscan-villa setting carries the formal-but-warm tone that visiting embassy-and-NGO guests can read as proper-Italian. The capacity is around seventy across the dining room and the private banquette section.
Reservations matter for the weekend evenings and for visiting-dignitary dinners; one week ahead is enough. The restaurant accepts cards, the staff speak strong English, and the post-dinner espresso service is properly Italian.

For impressing visiting international clients, the Marriott address and the Tuscan-villa Italian-flagship setting are the diplomatic-corps standby. As a first date the formal-but-warm hotel setting reads correctly without being stiff. For birthdays the Marriott hosts the cake-cutting and the kitchen will accommodate group menus.
