About Dalmatino

Dalmatino is the Hvar restaurant people actually remember the name of. Tucked into a lane off Sveti Marak, its tables run down either side of the stone alley under strings of low light, and the front-of-house team — led by a maître d' who has been there more than a decade — moves through the crush with the kind of choreography most restaurants would pay a consultant to teach.

Chef Ante Duplančić's kitchen runs a modern Dalmatian line that isn't afraid of butter. Gnocchi with truffle and aged Pag cheese. Seared tuna steak with black-lentil tapenade. A signature shrimp risotto finished tableside with a generous pour of champagne. Pasta is made in-house. The dessert trolley — actually an old wooden cart — is a small theatre piece.

Wine is a well-curated 120-label list leaning Croatian, with a careful selection of Italian whites for guests who want to stay familiar. The bottle prices are more generous than most of the waterfront.

A full dinner for two with wine runs 150–220€. Not quiet — Dalmatino is alive with conversation from the second table down to the last — but the energy is part of the appeal. It is Hvar doing Hvar well.

Why It's Perfect for Close a Deal

Dalmatino is the closing-dinner table on the island. The energy is high but the food is serious, the service is polished enough to signal that you know what you booked, and the lane itself gives a deal dinner the right mix of public and private. Most handshake evenings in Hvar, somewhere along the line, end up here.
