About Octavium
Octavium opened in 2017 as Umberto Bombana's intimate counterpoint to his three-star flagship Otto e Mezzo Bombana. The dining room runs twenty-eight covers across two floors of the Landmark Atrium, with deep velvet booths, hand-blown Murano lighting, and a private terrace that overlooks the Central skyline.
The menu is classical Italian filtered through Bombana's signature ingredient sourcing — white truffle in season (October–December the must-book window), aged-prime beef carpaccio, hand-cut tagliatelle with veal-shoulder ragù braised twelve hours, a roasted suckling pig that arrives whole and is portioned at the table. The pasta course is the kitchen's flagship; do not skip it.
The wine cellar is Italy-deep — Barolo, Brunello, Super Tuscans, with a strong Champagne programme for celebratory dinners. The sommelier reads the room and pairs by intuition rather than by formula; ask for a small flight rather than a fixed pairing.
Bookings via the Bombana website or Tableapp four to six weeks ahead — booth tables book first. Proposals are common here; the team will coordinate flowers, ring placement and a vintage-Champagne pour timed to the moment if forewarned at booking. Dress smart evening; the room expects effort.
Best Occasion Fit
Hong Kong's proposal calendar runs through Octavium more often than any other Italian room in the city — the booths are private, the lighting is filmic, the kitchen is a Bombana, and the Champagne pour will land precisely on cue.
