Fulton Market's Modern Italian Pasta House
Daisies is Joe Frillman's modern Italian — relocated from its original Logan Square address to a larger Fulton Market room, where the format has expanded without losing its small-restaurant attention to detail. The kitchen runs handmade pastas built around small Midwestern producers.
The cooking is contemporary Italian with a Midwestern sourcing thesis: pastas rolled daily, vegetables from the kitchen's own farm partners, considered seasonal mains.
What to Order
Pasta first — daily-rolled, seasonal preparations the kitchen has been refining. Vegetable starters from the farm programme; a single shared main after the pasta course. The wine list leans Italian and is reasonably priced for the format.
The Format
The new Fulton Market dining room is larger than the original Logan Square space but retains the focused-kitchen feel. The bar handles walk-ins; the dining room takes reservations.
Best Occasion: First Date
Daisies is one of Chicago's quiet first-date rooms. The pasta programme provides natural sharing; the wine list rewards a single bottle ordered with care; the room is intimate without being intimidating. The Fulton Market location handles a post-dinner walk.
