About Locanda del Marinaio
Locanda del Marinaio is the Brucato-family-run seafood trattoria on Via Vittorio Emanuele. The medieval lane running parallel to the lungomare, three streets back from the beach. And is Cefalù's most authentic small-fleet fish trattoria. The Brucato family are themselves Tyrrhenian-coast fishermen. The patriarch Salvatore runs the family's fishing boat out of the Cefalù harbour and supplies the restaurant directly each morning.
The menu is recognisably Cefalù coastal. Spaghetti alle vongole with Tyrrhenian-coast clams; a hand-rolled busiate alla trapanese with Mazzara red prawn; a wood-fired Cefalù dentice baked in salt crust; a slow-cooked Mediterranean octopus; a 'pasta alla siciliana'. Sea-urchin pasta from the daily Brucato catch; the famous 'frittura mista del Tirreno'. A mixed-fish fry of the daily catch.
The wine list is short and almost entirely Sicilian to Etna DOC, Cerasuolo di Vittoria, Marsala. At the most reasonable Centro Storico prices. Glass pours start at €4. The cellar holds about 80 references.
Service is family-run. The Brucato siblings rotate the floor and the captains have worked the property for years. Locanda del Marinaio is the dining room that local Cefalù families, Sicilian university students, and serious-budget travellers all use as a default lunch and dinner address.
Why It's Perfect for Team Dinner
Locanda del Marinaio is the team-dinner room in Cefalù. The seafood menu is shared-format, the wine list is forgiving on a multi-bottle dinner for eight, and the small-fleet sourcing is genuinely conversation-worthy. It is also the easy first-date answer when both diners want Cefalù atmosphere without precious tasting-menu format. Book the corner four-top.
