The Hive occupies the ground floor of the 21c Museum Hotel on NE A Street in downtown Bentonville — one of the network of contemporary art museum hotels that has established the 21c brand as the most culturally ambitious hotel group in the American South and Midwest. The restaurant's 12,000 square feet of art-filled gallery and event space embed the dining experience within rotating exhibitions of contemporary work, making every visit a different visual encounter from the last.

The culinary philosophy at The Hive centres on the High South — the particular foodways of the Ozarks and upper South that predate the farm-to-table marketing era and represent a genuine regional identity. The kitchen engages with black walnuts, hickory-smoked hams, freshly milled cornmeal, the stone fruits of Ozark summers, and the sweet onions and melons that the region produces with distinction. The result is a menu that feels local in the most specific sense — rooted in the particular agriculture of this corner of Arkansas rather than the generalised South.
