About The Cliff
The Cliff is the world-renowned clifftop dining institution of Barbados. Perched atop a picturesque cliff overlooking the Caribbean Sea on Highway 1 in Saint James, the West Coast luxury quarter. And is the most photographed dinner setting in the Caribbean. Chef Matt Worswick (Michelin-Star pedigree from his UK fine-dining career) runs the kitchen.
The cuisine is contemporary Caribbean cliffside. The two-or-three-course gourmet menu rotates seasonally; signatures include a Caribbean-lobster bisque; a slow-cooked Caribbean snapper with samphire; a hand-cut Caribbean tuna tartare; a wood-fired Caribbean grouper; a Caribbean-style soufflé; the famous 'tropical fruit dessert' that Worswick has refined.
The wine list runs to 600 references with deep French Champagne, Burgundy and Bordeaux coverage. The cocktail bar runs a serious Caribbean-rum programme.
The dining room and clifftop terrace together hold seventy-two covers; the cliff-edge tables sit fifteen metres above the Caribbean Sea. Service is precision. Uniformed captains, choreographed plate-arrival, exact pacing.
Why It's Perfect for Proposal
The Cliff is the proposal-grade table in the Caribbean. The cliff-edge terrace at sunset is among the most photographed dinner settings on earth, the Worswick Michelin pedigree settles the credibility question, and the three-course gourmet pacing accommodates a slow-moving evening. Brief the captain three days ahead and ask for a corner two-top at the cliff edge.
