About 7 Mehmet
7 Mehmet is an Antalya institution in the specific sense of the word: it has been in the same family and cooking broadly the same food since 1937, when Mehmet Akdağ's grandfather opened a soup shop near the harbour. The current restaurant sits on a panoramic hilltop inside Atatürk Kültür Parkı on the Konyaaltı side of the city, a 15-minute drive from the old town. The terrace seats 200 under Mediterranean pines and looks directly west to the sunset over the Bay of Antalya.
The menu is the city's most complete treatment of Antalya-regional cooking. The lamb tandır (earth-oven) is slow-cooked for 12 hours and served with the traditional tirit of bread soaked in the cooking jus; the Antalya-style piyaz (white beans with tahini) is the house signature; a daily catch of Mediterranean fish is grilled whole over charcoal. The kitchen also runs one of the country's best meze programmes — 30+ cold and hot starters brought to the table on a tray, with diners choosing directly.
The dining room is set up for both business lunches (the quiet end, closer to the view) and group dinners (long tables in the centre). Service is fast and warm; the Akdağ family remembers generations of regulars. The wine list is solid Turkish with a few international imports. The restaurant is a fixture on the political-industrial lunch circuit; most of the city's senior executives eat here at least once a week.
Lunch runs ₺900–1,400 per person for the meze-and-main format. Dinner à la carte is ₺1,400–2,200 per person including wine. Celebrity tables exist (the central table under the largest pine is typically held for dignitaries); regular reservations book the terrace view tables at the edge.
Why It's Perfect for Close a Deal
7 Mehmet is the Antalya power lunch. The hilltop terrace, the sunset over the Bay, the 90-year family history, the fact that every senior executive in the city knows the place — everything is calibrated for a deal-making dinner where Antalya itself is part of the pitch. The two-hour lunch is the institution; dinner is the evening version.
