About Blanchards
Blanchards Restaurant has been the institutional luxury Anguilla dining destination since 1994. Opened by chef Melinda Blanchard and her husband Bob on Meads Bay, the canonical western beach quarter, with panoramic views of tropical gardens and aquamarine seas. And is the island's longest-running luxury beachfront-dining institution.
The cuisine is contemporary Caribbean. Signatures include a Caribbean-lobster cocktail; a slow-cooked Caribbean goat with West-Indian spices; a wood-fired Caribbean snapper with samphire; a hand-cut Caribbean tuna tartare; the famous 'cracked-coconut roasted shrimp' that has been on the menu since 1994.
The wine list runs to 350 references with deep French Champagne and Burgundy coverage. The cocktail bar runs a serious Caribbean-rum programme.
The dining room and Meads Bay terrace together hold ninety-six covers. The Blanchards Beach Shack. The casual American-style sister restaurant. Sits adjacent to the main dining room. Service is family-run.
Why It's Perfect for Proposal
Blanchards is the proposal-grade table in Anguilla. The Meads Bay beachfront-dining setting is the canonical Caribbean luxury experience, the Blanchards institutional pedigree settles the credibility question, and the dinner-and-cocktails-at-sunset programme is the canonical Anguilla evening.
