Lucca The St. Regis Amman

The Verdict

Lucca is the St. Regis Amman's Italian steakhouse flagship — the hotel opened in 2021 and the restaurant has become, in the four years since, Amman's most-used business-dinner room for the younger generation of the city's commercial class. The dining room is built around an open meat-ageing display: Kazakh and Australian Wagyu alongside Italian chianina and imported US prime.

The menu is structured as a short Italian antipasti-and-primi list leading into the steakhouse section. The pasta work is serious — the agnolotti al plin and the tagliatelle al tartufo are reference quality — but the room rests on the meat programme. Cuts are presented at the table before ordering. The wine list is deep in Super Tuscans and Piedmont Barolos, with a cautious Lebanese and Jordanian section.

The private dining rooms — three of them, holding six to sixteen — are the city's best contemporary-design closed-door dinner rooms. The service is the St Regis standard: uniformed, attentive without intrusion, discreet with the check. A dinner with a mid-range Super Tuscan runs JOD 95 per person.

Why it works for Close a Deal

For a deal-closing dinner — the kind where two or three principals from each side meet for the signature evening — Lucca's private dining room is the correct choice. The steakhouse format is universally respected by business clients. The wine list flatters the host who reads wine. The acoustics allow conversation. And the St Regis Amman's discretion around the actual deal is more reliable than at any other hotel restaurant in the city.
