About Musciora
Musciora is the chef-driven mid-Centro Storico dining room of the Andreini family. Chef Andrea Andreini in the kitchen, his son sommelier Giulio Andreini on the floor. Opened in 2017 on Via Mazzini in the heart of the medieval walls. The restaurant occupies a converted 16th-century palazzo with stone-vaulted ceilings, hand-carved walnut beams, an open kitchen at the back, and forty-eight covers across two rooms.
The cuisine is contemporary Sardinian with deep regional sourcing. Three tasting menus run in parallel: 'Dal Mare' (fish and seafood, drawing on the Alghero small-fleet larder), 'Dalla Terra' (inland-Sardinian meat and dairy from the Logudoro hills), and 'Combinato' (a combined six-course programme). Signatures include a hand-rolled fregola sarda with Sardinian sea-urchin; a slow-cooked Logudoro lamb shoulder with thyme and rosemary; a hand-cut culurgiones (the protected-AOP Sardinian potato-and-mint ravioli) with Sardinian saffron; a wood-fired Adriatic-Sardinian dentice with Cabras salt-pan salt; the famous 'seadas alle mele'. A Sardinian honey-and-cheese pastry with apple compote.
The wine list runs to 350 references with deep Sardinian smallholder coverage. Cannonau, Vermentino di Gallura, Carignano del Sulcis. And a tightly chosen Italian-national section. Sommelier Giulio Andreini runs the floor and the pairing flight at €78 is heavily Sardinian-led.
Service is genuinely family-run. Andrea in the kitchen, Giulio at the front, the captains rotate from a year-round seasonal pool. And the kitchen pacing is leisurely. Musciora is the most reliable client-entertaining address in northwestern Sardinia.
Why It's Perfect for Impress Clients
Musciora is the impress-the-client room in Alghero. The father-and-son family operation settles the credibility question, the Michelin Guide listing answers the cooking question, and the deep Sardinian wine list is genuinely distinctive. The relatively reachable price point makes a tasting menu accessible. Book the corner four-top in the smaller dining room; ask Giulio for the Cannonau-vertical pairing.
