About La Saletta
La Saletta is the Pinna-family-run dining room on Via Kennedy. A residential street near the lungomare beach-front, fifteen minutes' walk from the Centro Storico. And is Alghero's most reliable mid-tier modern-Sardinian family trattoria. The Pinna family opened the kitchen in 2009 as a simple trattoria and have built it over fifteen years into a serious-but-relaxed contemporary programme.
The menu is contemporary Sardinian with a strong family-cooking sensibility. Hand-rolled fregola sarda with Sardinian sea-urchin; a slow-cooked Logudoro lamb shoulder with thyme; hand-cut culurgiones with Sardinian saffron; a wood-fired Mediterranean dentice with Cabras salt; the famous 'seadas alle mele' for the dessert course; three tasting menus that rotate seasonally with carefully selected Sardinian ingredients.
The wine list is short and almost entirely Sardinian to Cannonau, Vermentino di Gallura, Carignano del Sulcis. At the most reasonable Alghero prices. Glass pours start at €4. The cellar holds about 100 references and is one of the most reasonable wine programmes in any Alghero dining room.
Service is family-run. The Pinna siblings rotate the floor. La Saletta is the dining room that local Alghero families, Sardinian university students, and serious-budget travellers all use as a default lunch and dinner address.
Why It's Perfect for First Date
La Saletta is the easy-first-date room in Alghero. Quieter than Santa Marì, less formal than Musciora, and the modern-Sardinian register is genuinely contemporary. The most reasonable Sardinian wine list in the village makes a half-bottle pairing accessible. Book the corner two-top in the smaller dining room.
