About Ocean at Vila Vita Parc
Ocean is the Michelin two-star restaurant at Vila Vita Parc, a sprawling five-star resort between Porches and Armação de Pêra on the central Algarve coast. Chef Hans Neuner — Austrian-born, Danish- and Italian-trained — has run the kitchen since 2007 and won the second star in 2011. It is the region's most formal dining room.
The space is purpose-built and resolutely contemporary — a glass-fronted dining pavilion set on the resort's cliff edge, walnut-floored, dimly lit, fifty-two seats across the main room and a glass-walled chef's table. The outdoor terrace faces the resort's private bay and operates in warmer months.
Neuner's menu is the most internationally benchmarked cooking in the Algarve. A spicy tuna course with wasabi and Amalfi lemon; Alentejo black pork with turnip and a miso jus; a Portuguese red mullet with bouillabaisse foam. The signatures shift every season but the precision does not. A nine-course tasting menu is the typical commitment; a five-course lunch runs Thursdays through Sundays.
Tasting menus run €275 (lunch), €320 (evening), €385 (full); wine pairings €195. The restaurant sits inside a major resort, which means guest rooms, bars and a second Michelin-starred space (Emō, by the same group) are all within a two-minute walk.
Why It's Perfect for Impress Clients
Ocean is the Algarve's most serious client-dinner room. The formality of the space signals commitment without being intimidating; the international benchmarking of the cooking reassures any visiting European or Asian guest; the wine list is deep in both Portuguese and Old World terms; and the resort setting makes car, driver, room and post-dinner drink all trivial to arrange. For a client flying into Faro, this is the closing dinner.
