About Twins Garden

Twins Garden was the first restaurant in Russia to win two Michelin stars and remains the single most serious kitchen in the country. Ivan and Sergey Berezutskiy — identical twins, both trained in the Basque country — operate a farm 150 km south of Moscow that supplies nearly every vegetable, herb, dairy product and grain served in the dining room. The farm is the restaurant. The restaurant is the farm. Dishes are built around what the soil has produced that week.

The tasting menu runs 14 to 16 courses and centres on fermentation — the Berezutskiys treat kvass, koji, lacto-ferments and aged grains with the rigour Copenhagen's kitchens apply to the same ingredients. A signature course uses water aged over birch charcoal for 45 days and served as a broth. Another builds a dish around a single heirloom tomato variety that ripens only in late August.

The dining room is quiet, wood-panelled, and deliberately understated — the restaurant's statement is the food, not the setting. Service is attentive without being intrusive, and the sommelier programme leans into Russian and ex-Soviet producers in a way that's genuinely pedagogical.

For serious hosts — a board member, a prospective partner, a client who already knows Russia — this is the dinner that signals the host has done the work. For everyone else it is the single best dinner in Moscow, full stop.

Best Occasion Fit

When you need the client to understand you took the choice seriously, you bring them here. Twins Garden's two stars are the only two in Russia, and the farm-to-table conceit is the easiest-to-explain signal of the kitchen's seriousness. Deals close here because the host has done something no ordinary host would have bothered to do.
