Coconut Grove — Miami's Bayside Village With Two Michelin Stars on a Single Block of Main Highway

Ariete and Sushi by Scratch share the same address on Main Highway. Los Félix holds a Michelin star directly across the street. Carbone Vino brought Major Food Group's old-school Italian glam to Grand Avenue. Glass & Vine cooks inside Peacock Park itself, the only Miami restaurant set inside a public park. Three Michelin stars in a four-block radius — and that is before counting the Michelin Green Star that Los Félix wears alongside the rest.

The Top 5 Coconut Grove Restaurants

01

Ariete

1 Michelin StarCuban-American$$$$3540 Main Hwy, Coconut Grove

Ariete sits on a quiet stretch of Main Highway, set back behind tropical landscaping in a converted bungalow that reads almost residential from the street. Chef-owner Michael Beltran opened the restaurant in 2016 and earned its first Michelin star when the Florida Guide debuted in 2022 — a star the kitchen has held every cycle since. The dining room seats around fifty across two intimate sections, with a small chef's counter that opens directly onto the line.

02

Los Félix

1 Michelin Star · Green StarModern Mexican$$$3413 Main Hwy, Coconut Grove

Los Félix opened on Main Highway in 2021, a low-lit room of around forty-eight covers that reads as a cross between a Mexico City cantina and a Coconut Grove bungalow — terra cotta tile, wood beams, a small open kitchen, candlelight after sunset. Chef Sebastian Vargas earned the restaurant's first Michelin star in 2022 and has retained it every cycle since. The kitchen also wears the Michelin Green Star, the guide's distinct sustainability award, recognising the team's whole-animal sourcing and its dedicated heirloom-corn programme.

03

Sushi by Scratch Miami

1 Michelin StarJapanese Omakase$$$$3242 Charles Ave, Coconut Grove

Sushi by Scratch Restaurants Miami occupies a converted house on Charles Avenue, a side street tucked behind Main Highway, with no signage and a deliberately speakeasy-style entry that opens onto a dim foyer where guests are met with a complimentary cocktail before the doors to the counter open. Inside, ten seats sit in a single line facing the chefs, who work in clear sight for the entire seventeen-course service. The room was awarded a Michelin star almost immediately after opening, an unusual recognition speed for any new sushi restaurant in the United States.

04

Carbone Vino

Notable KitchenItalian$$$$2911 Grand Ave, Coconut Grove

Carbone Vino opened on Grand Avenue in 2024, a Coconut Grove translation of the Mario Carbone and Major Food Group concept that began as the original Carbone in New York's Greenwich Village. The room is full Major Food Group theatre: deep colour, tufted leather banquettes, captains in burgundy jackets, an enormous bar that anchors one end of the dining room and serves the complete menu to guests who arrive without reservations. Capacity sits around one hundred and twenty across the main room, plus the bar.

05

Glass & Vine

Editor PickModern American$$$2820 McFarlane Rd, Coconut Grove

Glass & Vine sits on the Peacock Park promenade on McFarlane Road, a two-hundred-seat dining room and patio that is the only Miami restaurant set inside a city park. The footprint extends into Peacock Park itself, with a covered terrace that opens onto the lawns and the bay beyond. By daylight it reads as a garden bistro; by evening, with the strung lights and the regular live jazz programme, it becomes the most reliably romantic dinner in Coconut Grove.
